Before his appointment to the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Blai served as a Psychological Services Specialist for the Pennsylvania State prison system. There, he conducted hundreds of evaluations for the parole process, gaining a deep understanding of human pathology and the “full range of human evil.”

His transition into the world of the supernatural was sparked by encounters that medical science and psychology simply could not explain. Today, Blai is a cornerstone of the Church’s modern response to the demonic. He serves as an instructor at the Pope Leo XIII Institute, where he teaches the next generation of priests and deacons the rigorous protocols of discernment and exorcism. As an auxiliary member of the International Association of Exorcists based in Rome, Blai has served on the front lines of the Church’s spiritual battles for over 20 years. During this time, he has lent his unique background and expertise to assist in more than 1,000 solemn exorcisms.
